Refried Beans and Chorizo Dip

A classic Southern-style dip, perfect for lunch or game-time.Serves: 10-15Size: 2-3 oz. with chips or vegetables


1 tsp. vegetable oil1/4 cup onion, diced 1/8”1/4 cup red bell pepper, diced 1/8”1/4 cup yellow bell pepper, diced 1/8”6 oz. Chorizo sausage, diced 1/4” pieces1 15 oz. can Glory Foods® Pinto Beans1/2 cup tomato salsa, mild1 tsp. Glory Foods® Louisiana-Style Hot Sauce1 tsp. chili powder1/2 tsp. cumin seed, ground1/4 tsp. black pepper, ground1/2 cup Cheddar and/or Monterey Jack cheese, shreddedPrepared corn tortilla chips or raw vegetables for dipping


  1. Pour Glory Foods® Pinto Beans into a mixing bowl. Use a potato masher to crush about half the beans.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet with oil. Stir in sausage, bell peppers and onions. Sauté until sausage is slightly browned and the vegetables are softened.
  3. Stir in the spices and heat for 15 to 20 seconds. Add pinto beans and salsa, and mix well.
  4. Pour the dip into an oven-proof casserole and top with cheese.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot and bubbling.
  6. Serve with your favorite corn tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.
