Happy Thanksgiving from Glory Foods

What do you look forward to the most on Thanksgiving Day? We're willing to bet it's the quality time spent and shared with family and friends. Whether you see them often or not, it's the perfect time to gather all together, relax, maybe watch football and simply enjoy good food and even better company.

Flash-forward to Thanksgiving Day. As the host, how would you like to spend the majority of your day? Would you rather sit and relax with friends and family, or would you rather stay behind in the kitchen cleaning and cutting greens, perfecting your green bean casserole, and painstakingly crimping the crust for a homemade pie?

While we understand the quality of food is always important, the preparation for a holiday feast - or everyday meal, for that matter - doesn't have to take away from how you'd really like to spend your time. Now, we're not saying there is anything wrong with getting pleasure out of making an entire meal from scratch. If that's what you love to do, go for it! But, for those who are looking to simplify things a bit Glory Foods has your back.

In the 1980s, Glory Foods founder, Williams F. "Bill" Williams, was sitting around a table with friends when he mentioned the number of hours and the care that went into cooking a savory pot of collard greens and how no African-American family celebration is complete without them. He thought how great it would be to have truly authentic canned collard greens.

After extensive research, Williams and his partners - Dan Charna, Iris Cooper and Garth Henley - realized that pre-seasoned, canned collard greens were not available anywhere. So they set out to launch Glory Foods, using the delicious dishes served in Williams' Columbus, Ohio soul food restaurant as inspiration.

Since launching in 1989, Glory Foods has become synonymous with convenience, quality and flavorful Southern-style vegetables. Available in retailers nationwide, Glory Foods offers a variety of deliciously seasoned canned vegetables that are great on their own but can be used to enhance your favorite recipes. Glory Foods also offers a line of ready-to-use fresh produce for those who still want to cook their greens from scratch, but do not look forward to cleaning and cutting them.

No matter what part of the country you're in this holiday season, you can count on Glory Foods to help you add Southern flavor to your Thanksgiving meal with ease! Below are some hassle-free Glory Foods recipes that are sure to delight those seated around your table.
