Kale & Banana Smoothie with Almond Milk

The popularity of drinking your fruits and veggies seems to be growing at a rapid rate. Nearly everywhere you turn there’s a smoothie shop, or at the very least someone sipping on a frosty homemade concoction full of produce. And we're not complaining about it one bit!

Sometimes it's hard to eat more greens or make a more nutritious meal. The Glory Foods ready-to-use fresh produce line is a great way to eat your veggies anytime of the day. Our bagged greens are washed and ready to cook or use in your favorite recipes, including smoothies!

In the past, smoothies were often little more than dessert, but today’s smoothies tend to be more health-conscious and green. Even in a fruit-based smoothie, a handful of greens can add complexity, fiber and a healthy dose of vitamins.

Smoothies can be complex or really simple. Three-ingredient smoothies are a big hit! Throw some kale or spinach in a blender along with frozen pineapple and coconut milk, and you've got a simple, green smoothie. If you have more time, you can make a smoothie bowl or layered smoothie with added ice, whole fruits, protein powders and healthy fats.

We've been working with recipe developer and competitive cook, Michaela Rosenthal, who has created two delicious smoothie recipes using Glory Foods Power Essence Kale & Shredded Brussels Sprouts. Both recipes are super easy, ultra creamy and green. We hope you enjoy!
